We are proud to announce that a poster from the Region of the Americas was the top choice of participants at the World Health Organization 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion (9GCHP). Congratulations to the Ministry of Health of Argentina for their poster on Healthy Cities in Argentina!
On 21-24 November 2016, over 750 high-level governmental health authorities and experts from around the world met in Shanghai, China for the 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion. The 9GCHP sought to explore the role of health promotion with respect to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Each WHO Region pre-selected posters to be displayed at the 9GCHP throughout the length of the conference. This provided an opportunity to showcase best practices in health promotion around the world and facilitate knowledge exchange. The posters were an outstanding representation of the exceptional health promoting initiatives being carried out worldwide.
A poster competition was arranged by the World Health Organization, and conference participants were asked to vote for their favourite poster on the 9GCHP App. Votes were tabulated at the end of the conference and the Winners were announced to participants through the conference App, with Argentina winning the first spot.
