From May 17-19, 2022, the 7th joint SARInet/REVELAC meeting was held virtually, where more than 200 participants from 39 countries of the American Region shared results and experiences on surveillance of severe acute respiratory diseases.
Among the objectives of the meeting, preliminary results on the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Paraguay were presented (see agenda attached). The presentations focused on the effectiveness of vaccination with primary series and booster against the Omicron variant.
