Following the World Health Organization's SIDS Summit for Health, and as part of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum which followed the WHO Summit, Dr. María Neira, Director of Public Health and the Environment Department at the World Health Organization talked about the unprecedented health challenges Small Island Developing States face, including the impacts of climate change, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the high prevalence of noncommunicable diseases.
