Following the disastrous 2017 hurricanes, the Ministry of Health of the Virgin Islands in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization, inaugurated a series of Resilience Workshops, which were held in February and September 2019 with plans for follow up sessions in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
In this webinar, we will review the scientific evidence, and practical applications for resilience practices to help individuals and communities cope with disasters.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Healthcare professionals, and it will involve both a didactic component as well as practice exercises to help professionals care for themselves as they care for others, addressing psychological first aid, compassionate listening, mindfulness exercises, and hope modules, as well as vicarious trauma and burnout.
