CONTEXT

Accurate and comprehensive collection of administrative health data on intimate partner violence and sexual violence is critical to informing policies, strengthening health systems, and improving care for survivors. Recognizing this need, PAHO, with support from the Spanish Agency for Cooperation in International Development (AECID), has developed a clinical form (“Regional Form for Administrative Health Data on Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Violence”) and a complementary toolkit aimed at improving data collection efforts on intimate partner violence and sexual violence throughout the Region of the Americas.

The launch of this information kit coincides with the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, a crucial time to raise awareness about gender-based violence and highlight the importance of having strong data collection systems to address these critical issues.
