QUANTPrEP is a tool developed by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) that estimates the need for PrEP and the cost of its implementation in a geographic area or health service (see download link below).
These estimates require data on key population size, risk profiles for HIV infection in the area where the estimate is being made, and the costs of each element to implement a PrEP service.
The accuracy of the estimates generated by QUANTPrEP depends on the quality of this data.
QUANTPrEP allows:
1. To calculate the number of people who are potential beneficiaries of PrEP.
2. To estimate the target PrEP coverage among potentially beneficiary populations.
3. Calculate cost of PrEP provision among beneficiary populations.
QUANTPrEP is also accompanied by a user guide (see download link below). This guide details the step-by-step process to complete the tool and provides guidance on how to report the information generated from it.
* There is also an expanded version of QUANTPrEP that allows performing simultaneous analysis for multiple geographic areas as well as deterministic sensitivity analysis (ASD) on the cost of PrEP implementation. To obtain this version of the tool contact hqcdeht@paho.org.
