Bridgetown, Barbados, 26 February 2024 (PAHO) - The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) recently collaborated with the Ministry of Health and Wellness Barbados in a joint effort to promote health education at Agrofest 2024.
Agrofest, an annual national agricultural exhibition was held from the 23rd to 25th of February 2024 at Queens Park located in the capital city Bridgetown. PAHO’s partnership with the Ministry of Health and Wellness took place on the 23rd of February, drawing a diverse crowd of attendees eager to engage with various health-related topics.
The collaboration facilitated an informative and interactive experience for attendees, with PAHO's team of technical advisors offering insights and guidance on critical health issues. Topics discussed included dengue prevention, elimination of mosquito breeding sites, food safety practices, and hand hygiene techniques.
One of the highlights of the event was the enthusiastic participation of children, who showed a keen interest in learning about health and wellness. Through engaging activities and demonstrations, they gained valuable knowledge that will contribute to their overall well-being.
