Context
Wellness Week 2024 will run from September 14-20, 2024. Under the slogan: Greater social cohesion, better health, the campaign seeks to position the promotion of social cohesion as an essential public health strategy.
Purpose
The launch event for Wellness Week 2024 has the following objectives:
- To launch the week of well-being in the Region of the Americas.
- To generate a space for dialogue that highlights social cohesion as an important social determinant of health, well-being and equity, and to analyze the main challenges for the development of intersectoral policies for the promotion of social cohesion at the different levels of government.
- To share experiences of governments and civil society in the development of actions and policies that promote social cohesion, including pro-equity policies and policies to promote meaningful social participation, especially of groups in situations of vulnerability.
Audience
The campaign launch event is aimed primarily at the following audiences:
- Ministries of Health, subnational and local governments, networks
- Academia and public health and health promotion associations
- Community and organized civil society.
