Leveraging the transformative power of digital technology towards achievement of the SDG 3 targets for and with young people in Latin America and the Caribbean

PAHO carried out an inter-generational dialogue around the international theme “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” with a focus on leveraging the transformative power of digital technology towards achievement of the SDG 3 targets for and with young people in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This virtual event was hold for the commemoration of the International Youth Day (IYD) 2024, that emphasizes the role of digital technology in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The IYD 2024 theme states that youth, as digital generations and visionaries, are the largest demographic of users and developers that shape digital trends globally, which makes them the driving force behind digitalization and innovation, and an essential demographic group in leveraging the transformative power of technologies to address global challenges.
Objectives:
- Explore the digital transitions in health, PAHO’s work in this area, and the implications for young people.
- Discuss how PAHO and other stakeholders can support young people in LAC to successfully navigate technological transitions in health and health care
- Explore how young people in LAC can help shape digital trends and innovation in their communities and networks to help accelerate achievement of the SDG3 targets.
