Context

Neurological diseases are the second leading cause of death globally and one of the main causes of disability and mortality in the Americas. In 2019, a 60% increase in deaths related to neurological conditions was observed in our region, highlighting the urgent need to recognize and prioritize these diseases within public health systems.

The Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders (IGAP) 2022-2031 aims to provide a strategic framework to address this growing challenge.
