Join us in the launch of the second version of this course where we will share regional and country experiences!
March 15, 2022 - 11:00 am (EST)
In order to promote the Safe Hospitals initiative in the post-COVID-19 stage, and also to stimulate the training of evaluators for its implementation, a self-learning course has been developed with the support of the "WHO/PAHO Collaborating Center for Resilient Health Services Mex-35 of the Mexican Social Security Institute": "Evaluation of Health Facilities through the Hospital Safety Index second version (ISHv2)".
The Hospital Safety Index (ISH) tool's main objective is the identification of vulnerabilities in health facilities, generating an action plan for each hospital based on their priorities, and that seeks to ensure the continuity of operations during an emergency or disaster situation, and in turn, the early recovery in a more efficient way.
Modality: the meeting will be held virtually.
Languages: the event will be transmitted simultaneously in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
More about the Safe Hospitals initiative and the ISH tool
The Pan American Health Organization /(PAHO/WHO) has supported and promoted the Safe Hospitals initiative for more than 25 years. It is one of its main disaster risk reduction strategies, which contributes to the fulfillment of the seven goals and four priorities of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, to strengthen the resilience of the health sector.
The launch of the first version was in 2008. Today more than 83 countries use the ISH tool.
