Context
Health Technology Assessment aims to inform decisions to promote an equitable, efficient, and high-quality healthcare system by using updated methods and robust evidence. Equity in access to technologies is crucial, especially in low- and middle-income countries, like many in the Americas Region. Ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can access and equally benefit from technological innovations in healthcare is fundamental to promoting a fairer and more efficient healthcare system.
About the webinar
The webinar will discuss how equity can be integrated into the HTA process and studies at different stages and from various perspectives. Santiago Hasdeu, from RedARETS, will present a survey on Equity in HTA conducted among RedETSA members and the existing questionnaires on Equity, and Juan Yanguela, from NICE International, will present NICE's experience on this topic, especially how they have been using the distributional cost-effectiveness method to address this issue.
