The inequalities faced by ethnic groups have become even more visible with the arrival of COVID-19 and its devastating consequences for many of these groups. Through knowledge dialogues, progress can be made in achieving universal access to health and universal health coverage. PAHO is promoting efforts to implement this methodology in the field of health and generate "intercultural minimums" that contribute to progress towards health equity.
PAHO reiterates its commitment and the need to continue working with its strategic partners and allies to help improve the health and well-being of different peoples and groups in the region, including through key methodologies such as intercultural dialogues. The launch the knowledge dialogues methodology is co-organized by the Office of Equity, Gender and Cultural Diversity (PAHO/WHO) with the Fund for the Development of the Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean (FILAC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Organization of American States (OAS).
