Background
Estimating alcohol harms allows regions, countries, and cities to analyze the impact that various alcohol policies can have on their communities. The International Model of Alcohol Harms and Policies (InterMAHP; www.intermahp.cisur.ca) is an open-access platform, developed by researchers at the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research (CISUR), a PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center, that can assist alcohol research teams and government officials in alcohol harm estimation and policy scenario modeling.
This webinar will build on previous ones offered in 2021. It will describe InterMAHP and cover the needed data requirements for the use of this online tool. To exemplify the usefulness of InterMAHP, speakers will demonstrate how to use the tool to estimate the potential health benefits of introducing minimum unit pricing in Canada. The webinar will also feature a country case with representatives of the Ministry of Health in Chile sharing their experience with training and use of InterMAHP.
