World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is celebrated annually on 10 October, with the goal of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. The theme of this year’s WMHD is "Mental Health for All: Greater Investment – Greater Access. Everyone, everywhere"
In the Americas, median spending in mental health services stands at 2.0% of total government health spending, varying greatly by country, and falling far short of being proportionate to the mental health burden in the Region. Now more than ever, during the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health systems, which were already under-resourced prior to COVID-19, find themselves even more strained as they face a greater demand for services and existing funding is directed elsewhere.
In this webinar, participants will learn about the current mental health situation in the Americas, the importance of investing in mental health, and what they can do to advocate for improved mental health care.
