Universal Health Day
Universal Health Day (also known as Universal Health Coverage Day – UHC Day) is celebrated on December 12th every year. This day has great relevance throughout the world and particularly in the Region of the Americas, because it represents a new opportunity to remember that Universal Health means that all people, everywhere, have access to quality health services, when and where they need it, without exposing them to financial hardship and with interventions that allow them to have a healthy life for their development and human well-being. The Region of the Americas has joined the global campaign every year, highlighting specific areas of interest for the Region, as part of its ongoing efforts to advance universal access to health and universal health coverage in collaboration with its member countries in the Americas.
