Training and Fellowship Program: Study Tours

The PAHO/WHO Training & Fellowships team collaborates with PAHO Country Offices and U.S. and Canadian government agencies, academic institutions and non-governmental organizations to design and implement study tours on timely public health issues. These professional missions encourage information exchange, inter-regional dialogue and offer participants an opportunity to establish linkages and develop inter-country or international projects.

Delegates from Ministries of Health around the world have traveled to the Americas for customized study and training programs on subjects ranging from rural health and medical insurance schemes, health care management, laboratory safety, occupational safety and health, health system reform, and risk communications.

Study Tours Funding

-  Partner Agencies Study Tours are funded by the agency soliciting the study tour.

Beside traditional WHO Study tours, PAHO works with partner agencies to design customized programs, such as the Rockefeller Foundation-sponsored study tour for African health leaders to learn about HIV-AIDS Care through organized site visits in Brazil, Haiti, and Jamaica.
