Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a common, sexually transmitted virus and most people will be infected with HPV at some point in their life time. The majority of HPV infections clear on their own, but in some cases the infection will persist and can develop into cervical cancer or other HPV related cancer. This factsheet series provides more information to health care providers and the general public on HPV and cervical cancer prevention and control.
