The purpose of this report on the health workforce in the Americas is to highlight the state of human resources for health in the Region using information from national health workforce accounts, and to analyze their availability (total number, density, and composition), distribution (nature and type of facility), characteristics (sex and age), and flow (new graduates, foreign-born and foreign-trained workers, and foreign entries).
These appendices provide users with the hard data in graphic format, together with the quantitative indicators analyzed in the report. The number of workers is also given, by year reported.
