Welcome to 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of COHEFA
The 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of the Hemispheric Committee for the Eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (COHEFA), will be held virtually on 15 December 2020.
The purpose of this 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of COHEFA is to analyze and approve the proposed new Action Plan for PHEFA, which will provide the political and technical framework for the Hemispheric Program for the 2021-2025 period. The proposal was prepared by the Pan American Foot-and-Mouth Disease Center (PANAFTOSA-PAHO/WHO), with the collaboration of a group of experts from the country´s Region.
COHEFA comprises public and private sector representatives from the 6 (six) Subregions: Amazon, Andean, Caribbean, Central American, North American and Southern Cone.
The Committee was created for the purpose of sustaining political commitment, developing strategies and lines of action, and managing resources to attain the targets established in the Hemispheric Program for the Eradication of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (PHEFA).
The meeting will be broadcasted through the Zoom Platform; the simultaneous translation will be provided in three languages: Spanish, Portuguese and English. The meeting will also be broadcasted through PAHO's YouTube Channel.
The 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of COHEFA is promoted by the Pan-American Foot-and-Mouth Disease Center (PANAFTOSA) of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) with the support from the Brazilian Government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).
