The integration between Epistemonikos and the Regional VHL has just been completed. From now on, VHL users, when retrieving a document, will have a service available to integrate information and systematic reviews.
If the document is a primary study, the user will have the opportunity to access the systematic reviews available on Epistemonikos that include it. Similarly, when the document is a systematic review, the user will be able to access the primary studies available in the Epistemonikos database when the systematic review identification was performed by a human rather than by machine learning.

Renato Murasaki (Manager of Methodologies and Information Technologies at BIREME/PAHO/WHO) clarifies that this integration is carried out online, which means that every record viewed in the Regional VHL triggers a request to the Epistemonikos’ web service to know whether there is information that we can display in the VHL.
This result is the result of an agreement signed by Gabriel Rada, representing Epistemonikos and PAHO/WHO Director, Dr. Carissa Etienne, who appointed Ludovic Reveiz (PAHO/EIH/HA) and Renato Murasaki (BIREME/MTI/AFI Manager) as their representatives.
Murasaki highlights the participation of BIREME employees Vinicius Andrade (Systems Development/MTI) in the project and the support of the IT Infrastructure area (IT/GA) in updating the VHL Regional search interface production environment.
