The Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) met in Geneva on 9-13 May 2016 and re-evaluated three pesticides: diazinon, glyphosate and malathion, due to public health concerns. The conclusions of JMPR were reported to a WHO meeting that met on 16-17 May to discuss the WHO recommendations on the use of malathion in vector control including for the prevention of Zika virus disease. The JMPR was convened to review a significant number of new studies that became available recently.
