The implementation of SIP Plus advances in Panama

Montevideo. August 30, 2022.Within the framework of the activities carried out by the Latin American Center for Perinatology - Women and Reproductive Health (CLAP/WR) in Panama City, a meeting was held on August 23rd to advance in the implementation of the SIP Plus in the country.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Itzel Thomas Focal Point from the Family, Health Promotion and Life Course (FPL) of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO); Dr. Geneva Mireya Gonzalez, National Chief of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Ministry of Health (MoH); Dr. José L González representing the “Caja de Seguro Social” (CSS); Dr. Giselle Tomasso, SIP coordinator for CLAP/WR; Eng. Luis Mainero, CLAP/WR computer technician; and engineers from MoH and CSS.

During the meeting, CLAP/WR presented the IT development with the list of indicators previously requested by the MoH of Panama and technical solutions were outlined to advance in the implementation of SIP Plus based on the country's needs.

They also discussed the next steps to be taken and raised some possibilities of support to continue with the implementation of SIP Plus.
