The observation of World Mental Health Day in October highlighted the need to integrate mental health services in primary care. One more PAHO contribution to the improvement of these services is a new publication, "Epidemiology of Mental Illness in Latin America and the Caribbean," part of the Organization's efforts to promote the adoption of national mental health plans in its member countries.
