Washington DC, March 25, 2024 (PAHO) - The English version of the course "Scientific Methodology and Strategies for the Dissemination of Knowledge for Nurses” is now available on the Virtual Campus for Public Health of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). More than 5000 people enrolled in the Spanish version, and over 2000 completed the course and received their certificates.
This course is aimed at nurses and healthcare professionals throughout Latin America, with the goal of advancing knowledge related to health and nursing research development. The course consists of four modules addressing essential aspects of scientific research and knowledge dissemination.
Participants will have the opportunity to acquire competencies in data collection and analysis, strengthening their role in evidence-based decision-making. Through a self-paced format and accessible language, the course provides the necessary foundations for research development and knowledge dissemination, allowing participants from diverse contexts to acquire research skills relevant to local and regional health needs.
The course comprises the following modules:
1. Scientific Methodology
2. Qualitative Research
3. Quantitative Research
4. Production and Dissemination of Articles
The estimated duration of the course is three weeks, with a total dedication time of approximately 25 hours. Participants have the flexibility to progress according to their availability, with an estimated five to seven hours dedicated to each module.
This course represents an invaluable opportunity for those interested in developing or deepening their knowledge in scientific methodology and knowledge dissemination strategies in the field of nursing and health. It was produced jointly with the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing at University of São Paulo (EERP-USP), PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development.
