This report, which covers the period December 2015 – December 2016, outlines the response of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO), to the epidemic of Zika virus (ZIKV) in the Americas and presents some of the milestones achieved during this period. PAHO’s response continues a long tradition of providing dynamic leadership, timely technical support and guidance to its Member States during health emergencies, in coordination with the WHO, other United Nations (UN) agencies, and key partners (both national and international) to ensure value-added joint action.
