São Paulo, 22 November 2019 (PAHO) - In the framework of the I International Symposium of Integrative Pediatrics, held in São Paulo-SP, Brazil, on November 22 and 23, the Representative of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization in Brazil, Dr. Socorro Gross Galiano and the President of the Brazilian Academic Consortium of Integrative Health, Dr. Ricardo Ghelman, signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health and scholars in the area of pediatrics and integrative medicine attended the opening of the Symposium.
BIREME Director Dr. Diego González attended the opening of the Symposium and spoke about the Center's contribution to the Brazilian Integrative Health Consortium and the Virtual Library on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicines (TCIM VHL). Verônica Abdala, Manager of Information Sources at BIREME, which coordinates the TCIM VHL, also participated.
The Symposium was born as an initiative of the Coordination of the Integrative Pediatrics Thematic Committee of the Brazilian Academic Consortium of Integrative Health, in collaboration with the Children's Institute Pediatric Unit, University of São Paulo School of Medicine Hospital das Clínicas (HC-FMUSP) in association with the IBC Med Faculty and Clube Transatlantico.
