March 13, 2025 (PAHO) — More than 50 participants from 30 countries and territories across the Region took part in the Fourth Consultation with Member States for the development of the PAHO Strategic Plan 2026-2031.
This consultation marked a critical moment to update Member States on progress in the development of the Strategic Plan and outline next steps. Additionally, the Secretariat provided updates on the development of the PAHO Program Budget 2026-2027 and The PAHO Case for revitalizing partnerships.
Held at a pivotal juncture in the process, the consultation was held in preparation for the upcoming 19th Subcommittee on Program, Budget, and Administration (SPBA), scheduled for March 19-20, 2025. Member States had the opportunity to hear directly from the PAHO Secretariat about key updates made to the Strategic Plan and how their input continues to shape the evolving document. The main updates were related to the situation analysis and Results Framework, but also on various sections of the Plan.
As part of this ongoing Member State-driven process, participants were once again invited to provide written feedback, which will be incorporated into the next iteration of the Strategic Plan. The next major milestone in this collaborative effort will be the presentation of the draft document to the 176th Executive Committee in June 2025.
The Strategic Plan 2026-2031 remains a living document, continuously refined through the engagement of Member States and partners to ensure it reflects the shared vision of health and well-being with impact for the Region.
