The event will coincide with the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) 62nd Annual Meeting and take place at Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) headquarters in Washington, DC. It will bring together patients, researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to shed light on the treatment and research needs of people living with Chagas disease.
This will be an evening panel discussion and reception, "Advancing Life-Saving R&D Innovations for People Living with Chagas Disease — The Silent Killer", on developing new health tools for patients afflicted with Chagas disease, the leading parasitic killer of the Americas.
Program will include speakers from Sabin Vaccine Institute/National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine; Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi); LaSocha (US Chagas disease patients association); Global Chagas Disease Coalition; and the Pan-American Health organization. Discussion will be moderated by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
