PAHO Guyana and the Ministry of Health trained Community Volunteers from 5 districts in region one on Surveillance and Monitoring & Evaluation for Malaria. During this time of COVID-19, it is essential to ensure universal access to malaria diagnosis and treatment. These volunteers work with the miners who provide malaria services to guarantee quality diagnosis, treatment, and reporting.
PAHO will continue to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health to reduce malaria infections in Guyana.
