Strategic plan Member States

January 16, 2025 (PAHO) — Over 52 participants from 25 countries and territories in the Region participated in the third consultation with Member States.

PAHO delivered a comprehensive briefing for Member States on the updates on the development of the Strategic Plan since the second consultation and on the proposed outcome and impact indicators.

MS acknowledged the progress made on the SP26-31 consultation document and again expressed appreciation for the consultative process.

Member States broadly welcomed the approach taken by the Secretariat to present realistic and measurable impact and outcome indicators. While requesting more details to provide more comprehensive feedback, the indicators were found to be relevant for measuring results in countries. Comments were made on how PAHO’s contributions are reflected in the indicators and how country actions can lead to impact. The Secretariat highlighted its ongoing work to target interventions and the improved definition of accountability for results.

The development process will culminate with the presentation of the final draft of the Proposed Plan at the 62nd PAHO Directing Council in September 2025, as outlined in the roadmap presented to the 61st PAHO Directing Council in September 2024 (CD61/INF/1).
