Tropical Depression Ida  

United States of America (Update)  

On 9 September, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update for the passage of Tropical Depression Ida. A total of 201 Boil Advisories remain in Louisiana (a decrease of 22 Boil Advisories from last report on 8 September) impacting 572,000 persons, while 31 water system outages are affecting another 44,000 persons. Additionally in the state, a total of 265,000 persons(88,000 people have regained power since the last update on 8 September)  remain without power while an additional 1,527 are housed in 13 shelters. In total, 182 power assessments have been completed, and power has been restored to 63 installations, and restoration to another 25 is in progress. In New Jersey, 30 persons are sheltered in 1 congregate shelter and 10 congregate shelters currently house 365 persons. In New York 1 congregate shelter houses 30 persons and 12 non congregate shelters house 17 persons. According to a media report, 82 fatalities have been attributed to the passage of Ida. Louisiana has reported a total of 26 storm-related deaths, 4 additional storm related deaths occurred in the Southeast, and 52 other storm-related deaths were reported in the Northeast. Wildfire  

United States of America (Update)  

On 9 September, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update to several wildfires active on the West Coast of the country. In El Dorado, California, the Caldor Fire has burned 217,859 acres and is 50% contained. A total of 10,826 persons remain under mandatory evacuation advisories, while another 3,287 persons remain without power. Additionally, 23,691 houses are threatened, 52 have been damaged, 778 have been destroyed, and 9 persons have been injured. A total of 94 persons are housed in 14 congregate (86 persons) and 5 non-congregate (8 persosn) shelters across the States of California and Nevada. In Plumas, California, the Dixie Fire has burned 922,507 acres and is 59% contained. Mandatory evacuation mandates continue for 519 residents. There are 1,904 houses that are threatened, 56 that have been damaged, and 704 that have been destroyed. Overall, 10 people have been injured, and 1 fatality was reported. The report is available at: FEMA.
