On 8 August 2023, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), published information on the heavy rains in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country. According to the information, significant power outages were reported in the state of Maryland (66,000 people affected), Pennsylvania (94,000 people affected), Georgia (36,000 people affected), North Carolina (102,000 people affected), and Tennessee (46,600 people affected).
