Brazil (Update)
On 7 September 2023, the state Government of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published an update on the heavy rains affecting the state. There are 39 deaths reported (12 increase since the 6 September report) distributed in the municipalities of Cruzeiro do Sul (4), Encantado (1), Estrela (2), Ibiraiaras (2), Imigrante (1), Lajeado (3), Mato Castelhano (1), Muçum (14), Passo Fundo (1), Roca Sales (9), and Santa Tereza (1); A total of 9 people are missing, 2,745 people were rescued, and 8 injuries were reported. There were 62,708 people reported as affected (10,551 increase) and 6,337 people were displaced (954 increase).
