Wildfire  

Chile (Update) 

On 6 March 2023, the Chile National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (SENAPRED per its acronym in Spanish), provided an update regarding the wildfires in the country. There have been at least 7,770 people affected, with 68 people in shelters (256 less than in the 20 February report), and healthcare facilities have attended to 3,569 people. There are 255 wildfires that remain active (5 less than in the prior report), of these, 184 are under control. Overall, 2,450 homes have been destroyed (465 more than the prior report). Severe weather 

Ecuador 

On 8 March 2023, the Ecuador Risk Management Department of Ecuador provided information on the effects of severe rainfall indicating the Garrapata, Mosquito, and Chone rivers in Chone canton, province of Manabí overflowed. There were 2 landslides and 5 floods affecting at least 2,000 families and 3 deaths were reported. There was one home destroyed and one roadway affected.
