Wildfire
Chile (Update)
On 8 February 2024, the Chile Ministry of the Interior and Civil Protection (SENAPRED per its acronym in Spanish) published updated information regarding the wildfire Chile. According to the update, 1,595 homes were destroyed (1,503 increase since the 6 February report) in the regions of Valparaíso (n=1,500), O’Higgins (n=80), Maule (n=3), La Araucanía (n=10), and Los Lagos (n=2). Additionally, 206 homes were affected, of which, 200 in the region of Valparaíso. There were 4,668 people affected (4,564 increase) in the regions of Valparaíso (n=4,555), O’Higgins (n=83), Maule (n=9), La Araucanía (n=17), and Los Lagos (n=4).
