United States of America (Update)  

On 8 August, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on the flash floods in the state of Kentucky. There are now 15 shelters open with 498 occupants throughout the eastern portion of the state. There remain 8 water systems with limited operations, however, no system has been reported as inoperable. The limited capacity of these water systems has caused 36,000 residents to be under Boil Water Advisories. In addition, the Village of Buckhorn water system is not operational, the system is fed by Hazard Water. FEMA has assisted with humanitarian aid through the delivery of 56 trucks of water, and 5 trucks of ready-to-eat meals. Closures are reported to 5 state roads and 27 bridges. Panama

On 7 August, the government of Panama reported severe rains that occurred on 6 August in Chiquirí, Panama and affected several houses after the overflowing of the David River, also known as Risacua, in the district of David and in the sector of Alanje in the province of Chiriqui. Media reported the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC per its acronym in Spanish) evaluated the damages caused to 38 homes in Chiriqui, affected by flooding in the districts of Alanje and David; humanitarian aid will be provided following coordination and more than 100 people were affected.
