On 5 May 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published bulletins concerning the Fuego volcano eruptive activity. CONRED is reporting that the eruptive activity of the Fuego volcano is decreasing, however, the presence of ash at the canyons of Ceniza, Seca, and Las Lajas is still abundant and is suspended in the atmosphere. Preventive evacuations have been reported in the municipalities of San Pedro Yepocapa, Chimaltenango, villages Panimaché I and II, El Porvenir, and Morelia.
