Tropical Storm Debby

On 5 August 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported tropical storm Debby moving through the Southeast, bringing heavy rain and strong winds, with significant risks of flash flooding and life-threatening storm surge anticipated through Friday, 9 August, morning. Declarations of State of Emergency have been issued across affected areas. In the states of Florida and Georgia, mandatory and voluntary evacuations are in effect; shelters and drinking water facilities have been activated. In Florida, 246,664 households are reported to be without power and the ports in Tampa, Manatee, and St. Petersburg have been closed.
