Colombia
On 3 August 2024, the Colombia Civil Defense reported the overflowing of the Pauto River in Trinidad Province, in Casanare Department, affecting over 300 families, seven of which were evacuated and suffered significant losses in housing, crops, and animals. Guatemala (Update)
On 5 August 2024, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) provided an update on the severe rainfall in the country. CONRED reported that during the rainy season of 2024 and as of 5 August, rainfall nationwide has caused 1,458 hazardous incidents resulting in landslides, structural collapses, floods, sinkholes, and other hazards, affecting the departments of Guatemala (297 hazardous incidents), Alta Verapaz (142 incidents), Santa Rosa (98 incidents), Suchitepéquez (88 incidents), and Escuintla (87 incidents). The incidents have left 7,093 people at risk, 8,126 people affected, 22,490 have been evacuated, and 731 people are currently sheltered. There are two shelters in operation, one in the Official Rural Mixed School of El Banco village in Taxisco, Santa Rosa, and the other in the Municipal Hall San Luis las Carretas in Pastores, Sacatepéquez. Tropical Storm Debby

On 5 August 2024, the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that Hurricane Debby was downgraded to a tropical storm after making landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane in Florida. Storm Surge and Tropical Storm warnings have been issued, with potential for additional warnings later. As the storm moves, dangerous surge and tropical storm conditions will extend northward from northeastern Florida to North Carolina through the middle of the week; heavy rainfall is expected across southeast Georgia and the coastal plain of South Carolina. Dangerous storm surge will continue along the Gulf Coast of Florida, including the Tampa Bay area, through Monday afternoon. Additionally, media is reporting four deaths in Florida, 1,600 flight cancellations, and 274,000 customers without power. The reports are available from NOAA, and ABC News.
