On 4 August, the Peru National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI, per its acronym in Spanish), reported strong winds on 2 August that affected 75 homes with approximately 300 residents in Canchaque and San Miguel de El Faique districts, located In the Huancabamba province. The entire population of Canchaque was also initially left without electricity, however power was restored to the surrounding community later that same day. Cleaning and debris removal is ongoing in the two affected districts and local authorities are coordinating to provide humanitarian aid to the affected people.
