On 30 January 2024, the Risk Management Secretariat of Ecuador informed that 214 people were affected in Esmeraldas due to the heavy rains that caused floods. Media also reported that at least 3,143 people were affected in the provinces of Manabí, Esmeralda, and Los Rios. Also, media reported 806 homes affected in the province of Esmeralda.
