United States of America (Update)
On 30 September 2022, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provided information on Hurricane Ian's passage in Florida, United States. As of 30 September, mandatory and voluntary evacuations were requested to 17 counties in Florida (decrease of 4 since the prior report). 257 shelters opened with 33,386 occupants (22,786 increase since the prior FEMA report). The water production facilities are not operating in 5 counties, working at reduced capacity in 16 counties, and boiled water notices are in effect in 19 counties. A total of 202 (increase of 26 since the prior report) out of 4,328 healthcare facilities across Florida were evacuated. At least 2 million (decrease of 18 million since the prior report) people are without power and 10 airports, 24 ports, and 9 railways were closed. The reports is available at: FEMA
Puerto Rico (Update)
On 29 September 2022, the government of Puerto Rico provided an update on Hurricane Fiona's passage in Puerto Rico through their Emergency Portal System. There have been 25 deaths reported associated with the hurricane (2 increase since the prior report), 11 are confirmed (3 increase since the prior report) and 14 remain under investigation. Guatemala (Update)
On 30 September, the Guatemala National Coordination System for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish), provided an update about the effects of the rainy season in the country. To date 2,224 incidents related to heavy rains have been reported (270 increase since the prior report). Between 1 April to 30 September 2022, 4,162,868 people were affected (601,978 additional since the prior update) and 47 deaths were reported (4 increase since the prior report. A total of 97 bridges and 652 roads were affected and 510 houses were severely damaged (47 additional since the prior update). The report is available at: CONRED
