Bolivia (Update)

On 30 July 2024, the Bolivia Ministry of Defense (MINDEF per its acronym in Spanish) provided an update on wildfires in the country, reporting joint strategies are being implemented between the National Government and the Government of the Department of Santa Cruz to mitigate the damages. On 29 July, the Ministry of Health of Bolivia mobilized 30 physicians to Santa Cruz to assist the population affected by the wildfires and over 343 medical treatments have been provided. United States of America (Update)

On 30 July 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published updated information on the wildfires affecting the Western Region of the United States of America, with damages and evacuations reported in California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. As of 30 July, there were 94 active fires (5 increase since the 29 July report) burning approximately 2.1 million acres (300,000 increase). In the state of California, there were 16,948 mandatory evacuations (decrease of 9,630) and 104 homes destroyed (42 increase) between Butte and Tehama counties, and in Kern County, 2,388 mandatory evacuations (23 increase) were reported. In the state of Idaho, the counties of Nez Perce, Latah, and the Nez Perce Reservation reported 2,680 mandatory evacuations (1,340 increase). In the state of Oregon, the counties of Grant, Morrow, Umatilla, Gilliam, Harney, Baker, and Malheur all reported damages. In Grant, Morrow, and Umatilla counties, 877 mandatory evacuations (decrease of 3) were reported, and seven people injured (1 increase). The report is available from: FEMA
