United States of America (Update)
On 3 October 2022, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provided information on Hurricane Ian's passage in Florida, United States. According to the report, 3,404 people were rescued by Florida National Guard. A total of 35 shelters opened with 3,418 occupants. 128 health facilities were impacted. At least 644,000 people are without power. Media has reported there were at least 100 deaths reported in Florida and in North Carolina 4 deaths were reported. Puerto Rico (Update)
On 2 October 2022, the government of Puerto Rico provided an update on Hurricane Fiona's passage through their Emergency Portal System. There have been 25 deaths reported associated with the hurricane (2 increase since the prior report), 13 are confirmed (5 increase since the prior report) and 12 remain under investigation. Due to the flooding, the Department of Health has issued a health alert on Leptospirosis and as of 2 October, there were 67 reported cases, of which, 1 case is confirmed, 7 are probable, and 59 are suspected, including 1 death. Venezuela
On 3 October 2022, the Civil Protection of Venezuela, provided information about the heavy rains in the country. The authorities are monitoring vulnerable areas affected by the rains of 30 September. The El pato river, in the municipality of Santos Michelena, flooded. Gabante and San José sectors of the municipality of Tovar are also affected.
