United States of America (Update)  

On 3 May, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided updates on three fires occurring in the states of Arizona and New Mexico. The Crooks Fire in Yavapai, Arizona has burned 9,402 acres and is now 72% contained. There remain 75 residents under mandatory evacuation orders, 700 houses and 103 structures are threatened, 2 structures were damaged, and 6 houses and 4 structures were destroyed. In addition, 2 injuries occurred. The Cooks Peak Fire in Colfax, New Mexico has burned 59,065 acres and is 69% contained. There are 231 residents under mandatory evacuations, 74 houses are threatened, 3 structures were destroyed, and 6 injuries were reported. The Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Complex Fire in San Miguel, New Mexico has burned 116,031 acres and is 30% contained. Mandatory evacuation orders affect 18,799 residents, 13,851 houses are being threatened, and 6 structures were damaged.
