Guatemala (Update)

On 2 August 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the rainy season in the country. There have been 484 severe rain weather incidents reported (38 increase since the 2 August report). At least 1,132,539 people were affected (59,789 increase), 16,789 people were attended to (5,487 increase), 4,052 people were evacuated (120 increase), 248 people are being sheltered (5 increase) and 20 deaths were reported. At least, 8,696 people are in risk. In addition, 2,755 homes were moderately affected and 100 were severe damaged. Additionally, media is reporting that 12,000 people were affected in the municipality of Barillas. The reports are available from: CONRED and Canal La Antigua
