United States (Update)
On 29 May 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported that over the weekend severe weather impacted much of the Southern and Central Plains to the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. From Friday through Monday, the Storm Prediction Center reported 76 tornadoes, 923 high wind events, and 337 hail events throughout the affected Regions. A total of 11 shelters are open in the affected regions. A total of 18 deaths were reported in Arkansas (n=8), Texas (n=7), Oklahoma (n=2), and Missouri (n=1). Currently 493,000 customers are without power in Kentucky (n=32,000), Texas (n=444,000), Arkansas (n=12,000), and Missouri (n=5,000).
