Guatemala (Update)
On 28 August 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the rainy season in the country. There have been 640 severe rain weather incidents reported (16 increase since the 25 August report). At least 1,829,903 people were affected (37,323 increase), 21,023 people were attended to (278 increase), 5,842 people were evacuated (122 increase), and there were 3,452 homes moderately affected (20 increase) and 116 severely damaged. Wildfire
United States of America (Update)
On 28 August 2023, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), published an update on wildfires that occurred in Hawaii, United States. In Maui, Hawaii, 18 shelters are currently open in (6 increase since the 25 August report) with 4,11 occupants (1,181 increase). There are 1,051 people (794 decrease) that remain without power.
