Brazil (Update)
On 26 March 2023, the Government of Acre, Brazil, published an update regarding the heavy rains in the state. According to the information, 5 municipalities were affected: Rio Branco, Assis Brasil, Brasileia, Epitaciolândia, and Xapuri. There are 29 open shelters, housing 2,673 people. In the municipality of Rio Branco, there were 30 shelters opened and a total of 2,002 (179 increase since the prior report) flood-related emergencies attended to. In the municipality of Brasileia, there were 7,927 affected people (500 increase) and 386 displaced people. The report is available from: Agência Acre
Peru (Update)
On 28 March 2023, the Peru Civil Protection (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish), published updated information on the heavy rains in the departments of La Libertad and Lambayeque. In the department of La Libertad, there were 5,062 people (4,284 increase since the 24 March report) affected and 6 deaths reported (1 increase); there were 1,941 homes (1,831 increase) affected and 440 homes destroyed (306 increase).
